I bought a laptop at low prices, real America, and that comes with the $, I will change it for £. How I can do?

The Labels can say $, but every time I give what I mean to £. I use Ubuntu Linux 9.04.

Click on the icon at the bottom left (where the start button is Windoze), select "Preferences / Keyboard and open in the box go to the second tab called schemas. Then replace the United Kingdom. Yours is like the Mint based on Ubuntu, is quite similar.
